Above: Even Asian People Don’t Understand The Grimace, acrylic on canvas, 14″ x 11″, 2007.
Prior to taking up art as a lifestyle, Dave Chung was the Universe’s Ultimate Dance Dance Revolution Championship. Crippling his Dance Dance foot for good on a Cheez-It left irresponsibly on the pad during a dance off with his mom, the championship title was immediately taken away from him in 2001, and nearly….his life. Attempting to leave his Dance Dance past behind, Dave has been painting images of unfortunate events happening to those who least deserve it as a therapeutic way to help him forget about the traumatic events that befell him.
